Job Purpose:

This position’s main purpose of this position is to provide professional accounting and financial support services for the construction business including but not limited to budget preparations, investigation of variances, expense approval recommendations, timely billing and payments, financial reporting and auditing, cash flow management and financial advisory to management on all construction projects.

Key Result Areas:

Review construction budgets, investigate variances, acquire expense approvals, and ensure that construction billings are issued to clients and payments are collected on time. Maintain accounting books and records such as the general ledger, bank reconciliations, accounts payable, and job costings and review accounting files, perform monthly closings, and prepare various financial reports for management. Issue invoices and purchase orders, as well as pay consultants, vendors, subcontractors, and supplier bills for the company. Analyze the capitalization of costs and ensures compliance with the company’s financial policy by managing the process for proper coding of construction invoices/payment applications and lien releases for contractors, subcontractors, and vendor invoices. Review all construction project budgets, including work plans, staffing, and fee structures which help to promote the smooth running of the construction business. Host monthly accounting meetings with the construction/project management team to review upcoming projections/billings. Investigate the project variances and submit these variance reports to the CEO. Submitting government reports and tax returns related to the construction projects. Oversee the creation and approval of all project-related billings to customers to foster good communication and avoid issues. Review and update management on project budgets, including fee structures, staffing, and work plans on a monthly basis. Ensure a smooth cash flow by auditing, generating, and sending invoices promptly as well as compiling and gathering information for internal and external auditors. Provide financial forecasting, planning and review report to management on all the construction projects underway.

Experience: 8 – 10 years

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Finance / ACCA / CPA
