Job Purpose :
This position’s main purpose is to oversee the day-to-day site operations and complete construction projects by planning, organizing, and controlling projects; completing quality inspections; supervising sub-contractors and staff.
Key result Areas:
Accomplish construction human resource objectives by selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counselling, and disciplining employees; Communicate job expectations to the construction team; plan, monitor, and appraise their job contributions and recommend compensation actions to the Project Supervisor. Manage sub-contractors by locating, evaluating, and selecting sub-contractors. Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of systems and equipment; monitor fire alarm control panels and other emergency equipment. Meet operational standards by contributing construction information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer service standards; resolving problems and identify construction management system process improvements where necessitated. Meet construction budget by monitoring project expenditures; identifying variances; implementing corrective actions; providing non-project annual operating and capital budget information. Achieve home construction project results by defining project purpose and scope; calculating resources required; establishing standards and protocols; allocating resources; scheduling and coordinating staff and sub-contractors; evaluating milestone assumptions and conclusions; resolving design problems; evaluating and implementing change orders. Approve construction projects by conducting inspections at critical phases; obtaining approvals from buyers. Prevent fines and interruptions by complying with, and enforcing, codes. Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations. Update job knowledge by tracking and understanding emerging construction practices and standards; participating in educational opportunities; maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organizations. Enhance organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Experience: 8 – 10 years
Education: Bachelors in Management / Masters Preferred (skills in Project Management, Quality Management, Supervision, Managing Profitability, Delegation, Supply Management, Civil Project Management would be a plus)
