Purpose of the Role
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will oversee daily operations, align departmental activities with strategic objectives, optimize performance, and support the CEO in driving growth across trading, logistics, and digital infrastructure. This role will lead operational strategies, ensure seamless integration of supply chain and digital platforms, and collaborate with the executive team to achieve profitability and market expansion goals.Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute company-wide operational strategies, ensuring smooth integration of supply chain, trading, logistics, finance, and digital platforms.
- Oversee day-to-day operations across departments to ensure timely achievement of business objectives.
- Translate strategic goals into actionable plans with measurable KPIs, ensuring successful implementation.
- Build and scale operational systems and processes to drive continuous improvement in productivity and customer experience.
- Identify and mitigate operational risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory, legal, and safety standards.
- Drive innovation by leveraging digital tools and data analytics in decision-making processes.
- Mentor and develop senior leadership to foster a high-performance, accountable organizational culture.
- Represent the company in external partnerships, government engagements, and strategic business forums.
- Oversee budgeting and financial performance, ensuring cost optimization and profitability.
Professional Qualifications
- CMA or CA qualification is mandatory.
- A results-driven, data-informed, and customer-centric mindset.
Experience
- 15+ years of progressive experience, with at least 5 years in senior leadership roles managing complex operations.
- Demonstrable expertise in commodities, agribusiness, logistics, or technology-driven industries.
